London

A Dip into the Unknown

We arrive to London from Heathrow Airport, with a strategically long layover so we might get the chance to explore a day in London. Caution: this works well when you are youthful and willing to run around!

The U-turn in Ubers

We dove into our adventures with wild U-turns in the city of London as we had limited time between flights to risk a chance to experience London but still being able to show my dad around the town. This was a great opportunity since he has been thinking about tales of London ever since he was a kid in Hong Kong. We all have definitely agreed, we will need to spend a proper three to four days there to experience London properly.

In a weird discovery, not only was George Orwell spot on about all the cameras in London, but the freeways too! Our Uber’s painstakingly crept along the freeways from the airport to downtown London with extreme caution for the traffic monitoring. Please, whatever you do, take the London Underground instead as it will save you immense amount of pain waiting for arrival, but it redeems with scenic vistas of lush vegetation.

Despite our hurried Uber adventures, we did come away with a ton of views and iconic sites seen!

These were just out of the airport in Heathrow. Not the best versions I've ever had but I wanted to share the cuisine and set the expectations. I feel the deeper into central London you get, the better the food is. Also, fish & chips with a side of curry is now an absolute must!

Westminster Abby

I’ve been fortunate enough to see Westminster Abbey twice, with each experience being entirely different.

One of my favorite churches as it integrates into it’s site, surrounded by beautiful visions of lush green walkways and other historical buildings to imbue the experience. It is truly one of London’s treasures.
